Whats Involved

I always say Vietnamese food isn't just something we eat-it's something we feel. It's philosophy, family, medicine, memory, and creativity, all wrapped up in flavour. And behind it all is a beautiful idea we call Thuyết Ngũ Hành-the principle of the five elements. These five elements-wood, fire, earth, metal and water-aren't abstract concepts to us. They guide the way we think about the body, the seasons, and yes, even the food we put on the table. Each one is connected to a taste (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, spicy), a texture, a nutrient, and even one of our senses. So when I cook, I'm not just tossing ingredients into a pot—I'm always looking for that sweet spot between hot and cool, soft and crunchy, yin and yang. That's the real magic of Vietnamese food: it's harmony on a plate. As we cook together I'll teach you how this works (and believe me if i can cook so can you) using traditional Vietnamese techniques to make classic dishes

from all three regions of Vietnam - North, Central, and South.

Expect bold flavours, fresh herbs, and a great mix of textures.

Cooking may involve red meat, poultry, seafood, fish and gluten ingredients

It’s a hands-on, fun, and intimate class around a big kitchen table. We’ll chop, prep, cook, and then sit down to enjoy everything we’ve made.

We’ll even explore my herb garden to see what makes Vietnamese food so unique.

Come hungry - there’s a lot of food! And trust me, if I can cook, so can you.
